We usually apply three basic models
and a Mixed model:
• Fixed-Price Contracts
• Time & Material-based Contracts
• Offshore Bureau
Fixed-Price
Contracts
This type of contract means that the software project
in question is described in the available documentation
in sufficient detail, thus enabling Strategies to estimate
the scope and complexity of the project and to provide
a fixed price. In this case, the technical documentation,
the project delivery schedule and the final price are
stipulated in the contract. We provide a customer with
a Project Quotation that describes in detail the project
scope, schedule and the number of man-hours needed.
The payment schedule for a Fixed Price/Fixed Date agreement
depends on project milestones and duration.
Time &
Material-based Contracts
When the project scope cannot be precisely envisioned
at the moment (e.g. when a project lasts several years),
this model is used: For projects, in which the scope
of work can vary during the project implementation,
a time & material contract is signed. In this case
the "full time equivalent" scheme is applied
which means that the customer is charged at a daily
rate for each employee dedicated to the customer's project.
All invoices for this type of contract are accompanied
by project reports.
Offshore
Bureau
This type of contract is used only for projects that
require offshore staffing. Under this contract Strategies
is only responsible for providing the customer with
team of profiled specialists and the required infrastructure/equipment.
These employees are then under complete supervision
and management of the customer, and can be considered
as customer's team working offshore, in Minsk. The customer
is paying a flat rate for the employees, which covers
all overheads and operating costs, while retaining exclusive
responsibility for the management of the team and making
effective use of the provided specialists.
Mixed model
Strategies can provide a combination of fixed cost and
time and material based projects for your company. Our
rates can vary depending on the complexity of a specific
project, its size and the skills and experience of the
specialists involved. Of course we are quite flexible
and ready to consider your suggestions and propositions
regarding our collaboration.
We understand that in many aspects
the offshore software development outsourcing model
means a new business practice for the customer, full
of hidden and explicit risks. So if you have any questions
about how your project can be implemented by an offshore
team, what challenges and opportunities it might bring
for your business, please feel free to contact us. We’ve
been making offshore outsourcing model work for some
time now, both for large projects with global corporations,
and short-term projects with privately held small and
mid-size businesses, and are always happy to share our
experience and demonstrate proven practices for mitigating
mutual project risks.
